Fall Formal Recruitment

The Auburn Panhellenic Council and Auburn Greek Life have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 developments and its potential impact on our fall recruitment experience. We also reviewed recommendations from the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), the governing body of the 26 member organization sororities, who recently released a Recruitment Contingencies Task Force Report encouraging the use of virtual and/or in-person recruitment with physical distancing guidelines. In collaboration with Greek Life, chapter leadership, advisors, campus partners, and NPC representatives, Auburn Panhellenic revised the recruitment format to enhance the safety of our community.

Revised Schedule and Format

The revised dates for Primary Recruitment are August 8-15. All Rounds will be held virtually.

Information about Bid Day

Bid Day (August 15):
To limit the number of people on campus for Bid Day, parents and guests are not permitted. Chapters may host virtual meetings with parents after recruitment.  You will still have the opportunity to visit the chapter who offered you a bid. We recommend you wear a loose fitting/cooling top, shorts and comfortable shoes. Once you arrive at your chapter’s location, you will receive a jersey with your new sorority letters wear on top of your clothes. Do not forget your mask!

What does this mean for you as a Potential New Member (PNM)?

Move in and recruitment schedule/ format:

·         PNMs living on campus will still move into the residence halls early in order to participate in the Primary Recruitment process. More information about early move-in can be found here.

Recruitment Week Guidelines:

·   Masks will be required for both PNMs and active chapter members.

Auburn University has many traditions, and a strong Panhellenic Council is one of them.  The Auburn University Panhellenic Council is comprised of representatives from each of Auburn’s eighteen Panhellenic Sororities.  Due to the contributions of all its members, the council continues to be recognized for its excellence.

We hope that you are looking forward to attending Auburn University and participating in recruitment.  All  of our NPC sororities are outstanding and are committed to providing opportunities for their members to help them develop their greatest potential as students and as women.  Sororities today are far more than just social organizations; they facilitate growth and development of their members and contribute much to the community.  Use recruitment week to determine for yourself if you would like to become a part of the Panhellenic community at Auburn University.  Please know, however, that affiliation with a sorority is not a prerequisite for an active and successful college experience.  Joining a sorority, therefore, should be an individual decision, one which you make for yourself, not for your mother or your sister or best friend.  Whether you join a sorority or not, recruitment week will be a time for making new friends and beginning a new and exciting part of your life.  Recruitment is open to all women accepted to Auburn University or presently enrolled at Auburn University.

Auburn University Panhellenic recruitment is open to all enrolled Auburn University women regardless of race, religion, color, age, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
